Born and raised in Arkansas most of my work is a reflection of my life there.
I started making photographs in high school, using my father's old Pentax
K1000. Graduating in May of 2005 with a degree in Studio Art, with an
emphasis in photography from Hendrix College in Arkansas, my homestate, I
began to develop my photographic eye and moved on to medium format
cameras, specifically the Holga, which is what I choose to use now.  I have
a wide range of bodies of work (or phases as I prefer to call them) such as
still lifes and architecture, slow shutter-speeds with the Pentax,
documentaries, and, most recently, environmental portraits with a Holga.
The portraits are by far my favorite and are what I feel are my best work so
far.  Most of the images shown here are from this body.  I love this work
because it is a part of me.  Everyone I shoot is special to me: My
grandparents, close friends, or people from my hometown I have grown to
know over the years.  In these images, I have tried to convey the importance
of the person's surroundings and how
they work to define the individual.
