| What is Film Speed? Film Speed is an unusual photography scavenger hunt, you are given a list of topics, a disposable camera and a map of downtown New Haven. You have four hours to creatively interpret the topics and return your camera to complete your entry. How does it work? Starting off at Exposure Gallery, One Whitney Avenue in the Audubon Arts District of New Haven registration begins at 11am till 11:45 and the clock starts ticking at noon on Saturday, March 29, 2008. You receive your camera, map, location of the meeting points and first twelve of the twenty four topics! The topics remain secret until you receive them at each of the meeting points! Meeting points are located within the downtown area and are easy to get to on bike or by foot. One exposure per topic in the order given needs to be turned it at the last meeting point at 4pm that day. Points are given for the most creative interpretation of the topics, shooting all of the topics and in the order they are given, over-all interpretation of the 24 topics and speed of getting to the meeting points, checking in, and reaching the finish line to complete your entry. Individual participants, and groups of two are welcome to compete! A $25 entry fee covers one disposable camera, map, developing and 4x6 prints and negatives that are yours to keep, snacks, lunch and refreshments at each of the meeting points which are within the downtown area and easily reached on foot or by bike. |
